As explained on the Mining page, the development and use of our nation’s mineral resources are being attacked. Legislators, agencies, the courts, and a barrage of  special interest groups proceed as if the National Environmental Policy Act and the Endangered Species Act override property rights, human consideration, prior law dating back to the 1800s, and just about everything else. In fact, they treat NEPA and ESA as the equivalent of Constitutional amendments.

Notice to Cease and Desist

The Jefferson Mining District and other mining interests are fighting back, using the law and the Constitution. The Jefferson Mining District spans Northern California, Oregon, Western Idaho, and Nevada.

On May 5, 2013, the Jefferson Mining District served a Notice to Cease and Desist upon Oregon’s legislators, legislative counsel, Republican Party, Democrat Party, and BAR association.
